Love….?

Before you are in love… you don’t know how special love is.

Before you are in love… you don’t understand why there are couples all over the place.

When you saw the one that you love… you want him so much.

When you saw the one that you love… everything seems to be in black-and-white except for him.

When you are first in love… you can’t live with out him.

When you are first in love… the whole world seems like a brighter place to live.

After you have lost your love… you know that whatever you’ll do it can’t make you as happy as him.

After you have lost your love… you will learn that L.O.V.E. is one of the most important reason why humans survive.

So when you see the one that you love dearly, don’t let it just pass away! At least express how you feel! If you have a boyfriend/girlfriend don’t take them for granted, love them with all your heart because they are the reasons why you smile every day. If you have lost your love then go look for another person who will bring the beauty of life! Without love… none of us would be here!

If I were a character- Britney Byun

If I were a character I would be a superhero,

The one who flies everywhere to rescue the ones in need of help.

If I were a character I would be a princess,

The one who always finds her true love.

If I were a character I would be Dracula,

Never dying creature, who keeps its youth forever.

If I were a character I would be a Cupid,

Who can connect all the lovers together.

If I were a character I would be someone who is in love…

If I were a character I would be the one to share my love…

If I were a character I would spread my wings and fly away to be someone that I want to be…

If I were a character I would live my dream life…

If I were a character… I would be happy…

If I were a character…….

Sick – Shel Silverstine

‘I cannot go to school today, ‘
Said little Peggy Ann McKay.
‘I have the measles and the mumps,
A gash, a rash and purple bumps.
My mouth is wet, my throat is dry,
I’m going blind in my right eye.
My tonsils are as big as rocks,
I’ve counted sixteen chicken pox
And there’s one more-that’s seventeen,
And don’t you think my face looks green?
My leg is cut-my eyes are blue-
It might be instamatic flu.
I cough and sneeze and gasp and choke,
I’m sure that my left leg is broke-
My hip hurts when I move my chin,
My belly button’s caving in,
My back is wrenched, my ankle’s sprained,
My ‘pendix pains each time it rains.
My nose is cold, my toes are numb.
I have a sliver in my thumb.
My neck is stiff, my voice is weak,
I hardly whisper when I speak.
My tongue is filling up my mouth,
I think my hair is falling out.
My elbow’s bent, my spine ain’t straight,
My temperature is one-o-eight.
My brain is shrunk, I cannot hear,
There is a hole inside my ear.
I have a hangnail, and my heart is-what?
What’s that? What’s that you say?
You say today is…Saturday?
G’bye, I’m going out to play! ‘

There are times when people lie and make excuses to get out of certain situations. In this poem, a child is pretending to be sick so that he doesn’t have to go to school. The child is malingering. I think if this happened in the real world, it might be a problem. However, it sounds rather cute in this poem. We can understand the fact that we’d like to put our work aside and relax.

Life is…- Mother Theresa

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.

Life is beauty, admire it.

Life is a dream, realize it.

Life is a challenge, meet it.

Life is a duty, compete it.

Life is a game, play it.

Life is a promise, fulfill it.

Life is sorrow, overcome it.

Life is a song, sing it.

Life is a struggle, accept it.

Life is a tragedy, confront it.

Life is an adventure, dare it.

Life is luck , make it Life is too precious, do not destroy it.

Life is life, fight it.

Life is not simple rather complicated. Whatever comes to your life and challenges you, it should not discourage you. There would be  many unfair events in your life, however, you should accept them as yours without complaining. Life trains you, so dearly make it work for you. There are times when we need to accept things, or overcome things at different situations. I think that through this poem, Mother Theresa makes us realize that everyone knows life is hard, so stop complaining, get on your feet and walk straight toward the direction you wish to reach. You need your willing to get over any difficulties in your life.

life vs my life -Michole Petersen

Life is happy and good

My life is full of shame and regret

Life consists of everyone

My life consists of only me

Life consists of life

My life consists of death and pain

Life told me what I know now

My Life helped me believe it

Life taught me to be strong

My life taught me to become it

Life is the subject

My life is the reason

Life told me to fight

My life told me to give up

Life thought I actually would give up

My life kept me strong for me, my family, my niece (RIP), and my friends

This poem told us that even though there are general expectations in life for everyone, you should listen to yourself and make the best choice. There might be discomfiture in your life, which can be too hard for you to bear, but keep in mind that your life is so unique that you are the only one can confront it.

If You Think You are Beaten by Walter D. Wintle

If you think you are beaten, you are.

If you think you dare not, you don’t.

If you’d like to win but think you can’t,

It’s almost certain you won’t.

Life’s battles don’t always go

To the stronger or faster man,

But sooner or later, the man who wins

Is the man who thinks he can.

This poem was very inspiring to me. When I read this poem, I got hope that I had more belief in myself, so I could be more determined. We all should convince that we are able to achieve everything that we hope for, like the poem says, “The man who wins is the man who thinks he can.”
